Just like that, another year is coming to an end! 2022 has been a fantastic year for SBS Building Services. Our team has proudly worked on and completed a range of house renovation projects across Sydney this year.
To finish 2022, we wanted to review some of the most significant projects we worked on. Take a look below to explore some of the work we completed this year.
Rouse Hill: Second Story Addition
Introducing a second-story addition, our team took this Rouse Hill home to a new level. We handled this design and build project from drawings to completion.
To double the amount of space in this family home, we built a second story. We altered the home’s entryway to add a staircase that complements the new addition. The new second story features new bedrooms, including a master suite with a walk-in robe and ensuite, the main bathroom and a rumpus room.
Connecting the two floors, we added a stunning timber staircase with floating floors, complete with under-stairs storage. To provide further continuity between the new and existing areas, we modernised the downstairs by adding new floating floors throughout the main living areas and replaced the internal doors, skirting and architraves.

St Ives: Complete Home Renovation
Completely unrecognisable, we delivered a total transformation for this St Ives property. Our team managed this project from concept to completion and delivered an internal renovation to both the upstairs and downstairs levels.
Upstairs, we renovated the main bathroom and ensuite, updated all bedrooms and added new skirting, architraves and lighting. We also adjusted the downstairs floorplan, opening it up to feature an open kitchen and a family and dining room.
In addition to delivering a new kitchen, home office, bathroom and laundry, we also established a new modern staircase. Opting for glass balustrades and stairs, reflected the clean contemporary aesthetic carried throughout the home. We also gave the exterior of the building a new look by painting and installing windows, a modern front door and new front posts.

Model Farms: Home Renovation & Extension
This project is definitely one of our favourites as we gave this Model Farms home an entirely new look. It’s another design-and-build project we managed from drawings to completion. We delivered an extension and an entire home renovation, giving this home a complete facelift.
Extending the existing second story, we expanded the upstairs entirely, adding another three bedrooms, a rumpus and two bathrooms. Installing a new staircase, we provided new living quarters for the family to grow into.
Downstairs, we renovated the entire floor and remodelled all the wet areas, including a new mud room, powder room, laundry and kitchen. Enhancing the owner’s lifestyle, they can now appreciate a kitchen that offers more space as it opens up to the alfresco area. In addition to this, we also renovated the living and dining room.

Chatswood: Extensive Home Extension
Extending the original build, this Chatswood home is like brand-new! Like most home extensions done in Sydney, the owners wanted more space to spread across.
Taking the old brick veneer home, we extended the house, adding more rooms and redesigning the floor plan to establish an open-plan design. By expanding the back of the home, we created a more cohesive open living space, relocating rooms to provide a new living room, dining room and kitchen that seamlessly transitioned between areas.
The new open-plan kitchen now offers more room and a modern aesthetic, with an island bench and more cupboard space. It also openly looks out onto the backyard, prompting natural lighting and an airy space. In replacement of the original kitchen location, we built another bedroom with an ensuite.
